Ahn Hak-sop: A POW’s Wish to Die in North Korea

I photographed Ahn Hak-sop, a 95-year-old former North Korean soldier who spent over 40 years in South Korean prisons, while reporting a feature for The Times. His dying wish is to return to the North, but at the DMZ he was turned back — still trapped in the South he rejects.
